White abolitionist in the head of slave revolt?


In 1859, just before the Civil War, John Brown, a white abolitionist, accompanied with his supporters, tried to initiate an armed revolt by taking over an arsenal in Harpers Ferry. Despite the failure, it was a truly symbolic action of denying slavery.
