Starry Night by Edvard Munch
In this oil painting (135.6 cm × 140.0 cm) from 1893 the great Edvard Munch shows us to the view outside his hotel window, where he used to spend his summer vocations in a small beach town not far from Oslo (next to the Norwegian sea). Munch was 30 years old when he painted Starry Night, but in this painting he tries to recall the feeling of the first time he fall in love.
This Expressionist artwork is now a part of The J. Paul Getty Museum’s collection in Los Angeles.
