What are Atomic and Molar Mass?
An atomic mass is defined as precisely 1/12 the mass of an atom of carbon-12: 1 A.M.U equals to the 1/12 mass of a carbon atom. The molar mass of a compound is the mass of 1 mole of that substance, meaning the number of grams per mole of a compound. The units for molar mass are, therefore, grams/mole.
