What was Thomas Lawrence's role in the Arab Revolt?

British officer and archaeologist, Thomas Lawrence supported Arabs during their revolt against the Ottoman Empire. He suggested them to use their unique characteristics  for guerrilla warfare - kind of a strategy, that the Ottomans were not familiar with.
