Are Chinese river dolphins extinct?
The answer is inconclusive. During the 50's, the Chinese river dolphin's population was estimated at 6,000. However, the numbers have declined drastically due to China's industrialization, and some consider the species to be extinct. The last sighting of the Chinese river dolphin was in 2007.
